Understanding Golfer's Elbow
Golfer’s elbow, medically known as medial epicondylitis, is a painful condition that affects the tendons on the inside of your elbow. Despite its name, you don’t have to be a golfer to develop this condition. It occurs when the tendons that attach your forearm muscles to the bony bump on the inside of your elbow become inflamed due to repetitive gripping, wrist flexion, or forearm rotation activities.
This condition typically develops gradually and can cause significant discomfort that radiates from your elbow down into your forearm and wrist. Many patients experience difficulty with everyday activities like lifting objects, gripping items, or even simple tasks like shaking hands. The pain often worsens with certain movements and can interfere with work, sports, and daily life.
At Synergy Health Partners, our experienced team of orthopedic specialists understands how golfer’s elbow can impact your quality of life. We offer comprehensive, evidence-based treatment options to help you find relief and return to the activities you enjoy.
